Whirlpool of India Ltd. said its Managing Director Vishal Bhola resigned to pursue other interests, and the board named Narasimhan Eswar as his replacement.

Eswar will be join Whirlpool on 1 March 2023, and Bhola will remain with the company until 3 April in order to assist with his transition, the Indian consumer durables maker said in a stock exchange announcement.

The Gurugram, Haryana-based Whirlpool said Eswar’s appointment as an additional director and managing director of the company will be effective from 4 April for five years, subject to necessary approvals.

Eswar is currently the chief executive officer and president of Ki Mobility Solutions Private Ltd., one of the major automotive aftermarket players in India, Whirlpool said. He has experience of around three decades of building brands and businesses, mostly with Procter & Gamble and Reckitt Benckiser, it added.

Eswar holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi and a postgraduate degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, according to the statement.
