Tata Steel Reappoints MD & CEO TV Narendran For Five Years

Tata Steel Ltd. said its board reappointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer T.V. Narendran for another five years.

The reappointment, subject to approval of the shareholders, will be effective from 19 September, the Indian steelmaker said in a stock exchange announcement. Narendran’s present tenure as MD and CEO will conclude on 18 September, it added.

Narendran, who joined Tata Steel in 1988, has worked in several areas, including marketing and sales, international trade, supply chain and planning, as well as operations and general management in India and overseas.

He has over 35 years of experience in the mining and metals industry.

Narendran is a mechanical engineer from the National Institute of Technology and completed his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, according to the statement.
