JSW Energy Ltd. said its board reappointed Chairman & Managing Director Sajjan Jindal for five years.

The reappointment will be effective from 1 January 2024, subject to the approval of shareholders, the Indian power producer said in a stock exchange announcement.

Jindal, the principal promoter of the company, holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Bangalore University, according to its website.

The company, which also announced its quarterly results today, said its board recommended a dividend of two rupees per share for FY23. The dividend will be subject to approval of the shareholders, it added.

JSW Energy, a part of JSW Group, is one of the leading private sector power producers in India. The company currently generates 6,564 megawatts (MW) of power, out of which 3,158-MW is thermal power and 1,391-MW is hydropower, while 1,358-MW is wind power and 657-MW is solar power.
