Jindal Steel Appoints Bimlendra Jha As Managing Director
Jha has previously worked with Tata Steel UK and Ambuja Cement
Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. said its board approved the appointment of Bimlendra Jha as managing director of the company for five years.
The appointment of Jha, who has worked with the steel industry for nearly three decades, is effective from 14 August, the steelmaker said in a stock exchange announcement.
The appointment is subject to the approval of the shareholders, it added.
Previously, he has worked as chief executive officer of Tata Steel UK as well as managing director and CEO of Ambuja Cement Ltd.
Jha replaces Vidya Rattan Sharma, who will complete his three-year term at Jindal Steel on 13 August and step down from the company, according to the statement.
