Adani Ports Appoints Ashwani Gupta As CEO; Redesignates Top Executives

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. said its board appointed Ashwani Gupta as chief executive officer and also redesignated top executives amid internal restructuring.

His appointment as CEO will be effective from 4 January, subject to approval of shareholders, the port developer said in a stock exchange announcement.

The company said Gupta is a seasoned global leader with nearly three decades of experience. He has previously worked with Nissan Motors as global chief operating officer at the company’s headquarters in Japan, it added.

Gupta has completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, a General Management Program from INSEAD, according to the statement.

Adani Ports said its board approved the redesignation of top executives due to internal restructuring.

Chairman & Managing Director Gautam Adani has been redesignated as an executive chairman with effect from 4 January until the end of his current term on 30 June 2027, it added.

The company said Whole-Time Director & CEO Karan Adani has been redesignated as managing director with effect from 4 January until the end of his current term on 23 May 2027.
