Argus Partners Helps SolarSquare Raise $12 Mln In Series A Funding

Argus Partners advised cleantech solar rooftop start-up SolarSquare Energy Private Ltd. in raising 100 crore rupees ($12 million) in Series A funding.

The funding round for SolarSquare was led by Elevation Capital and Lowercarbon, the law firm said in a statement. Ankit Guha, Tushar Thimmiah and Kushagra Kumar acted as legal advisors to the Mumbai-based start-up, it added. 

SolarSquare designs, installs and finances rooftop solar systems for homes, as well as commercial and industrial projects, according to its website. The company’s services are used by over 4,000 homeowners across the country, it said.

The renewable energy sector in India attracted an investment of about $14.5 billion in FY22, according to a recent report by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA).

IEEFA and Climate Energy Finance (CEF) expect India to add 35-40 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity annually through to the fiscal year 2030.
