Law firm Trilegal’s partner and national head of the competition law practice Nisha Kaur Uberoi is set to join JSA Advocates & Solicitors along with her team of 25 attorneys, including two partners.

Uberoi, a veteran of over two decades, will join as chair of the competition practice at JSA. Two Trilegal partners joining with her are Harshita Singh Parmar and Pranav Satyam.

Uberoi, who frequently counsels on complex merger control cases, has also advised Prosus and PayU on PayU’s proposed acquisition of BillDesk, which remains the first and only instance of the Competition Commission of India clearing a notified transaction unconditionally after issuing a show-cause notice, according to Trilegal’s website.

Uberoi is an alumnus of the National Law School of India University and the National University of Singapore. Previously, she has also worked with firms such as AZB & Partners and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM).

Founded in 1991, JSA is a full-service law firm with over 500 lawyers operating out of seven locations, namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.

The firm has been aggressively expanding its practice areas in recent times. Padmaja Kaul, the litigation and dispute resolution partner of full-service law firm IndusLaw joined JSA with her team of three lawyers.

In addition, Iqbal Khan and Ambarish, M&A and PE practice partner of law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM & Co), recently joined JSA along with their teams.
