ICAI Elects President, Vice President For 2023-24

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s (ICAI) council elected its new president and vice president for 2023-24.

The council elected CA Aniket Sunil Talati as the president and CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal as the vice president of the accounting body with effect from 12 February, ICAI said in a statement.

ICAI said Talati, a Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University and a rank holder from Gujarat University, is the director of ICAI Accounting Research Foundation (ICAI ARF), Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI (IIIPI) and Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) India.

He is also the member of various other committees, boards and directorates of ICAI, it added.

The accounting body said Agarwal is a practicing CA since last 24 years, as well as a Company Secretary and DISA from ICAI. As chairman of the Ethical Standard Board of ICAI in 2019, he was instrumental toward bringing the revised the code of ethics after a gap of 10 years, it noted.

With more than 3.60 lakh members and over 7.80 lakh students, ICAI is the world’s second-largest accounting body, according to the statement.
