India Audit Regulator Seeks To Hire Young Legal Professionals, CAs

India’s National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) plans to hire young legal professionals and chartered accountants (CAs) on a contractual basis.

The contract, which will be initially for a fixed period of two years, could be extended by one year at a time, up to a maximum tenure of five years, the audit regulator said in a statement dated 9 February.

NFRA is looking to hire four legal professionals and 10 CAs in New Delhi.

The selection of the professionals will be done based on suitability assessment, which may comprise written assessment test and interview or both, according to the statement. Interested and eligible persons can send their applications at manageradmn@nfra.gov.in within 30 days, it said.

NFRA said the legal professional’s job will involve drafting of petitions, counter affidavits, legal research, legal vetting/advice, handling legal database and any other task allotted by the senior officers.

CAs will assist/provide inputs in review and monitoring functions of the authority, the regulator said. They will also assist senior officers in their functioning and research/keeping track of developments in the field of accounting and auditing in India as well as globally.
