Sintex Plastics IRP Gets Claim Of $131 Mln From Creditors

Sintex Plastics Technology Ltd.’s interim resolution professional (IRP) received a total claim of 1,075.67 crore rupees ($131 million) from the company’s creditors as of 20 March.

The unsecured financial creditors -- RBL Bank Ltd. and Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd. -- submitted a total claim of 1,075.60 crore rupees, while operational creditors filed a claim of 683,810 rupees, the company said in a stock exchange announcement.

Out of total claim of unsecured financial creditors, the IRP has admitted a claim of 671.38 crore rupees, according to the statement. The balance claim amount is under verification, it said.

The operational creditors’ total admitted claim stands at 159,679 crore rupees.

The company’s IRP Kshitiz Chhawchharia earlier asked its creditors to submit their claims with proof by 13 March.

Sintex Plastics is undergoing insolvency resolution since 21 February after the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) admitted its financial creditor Asset Reconstruction Company’s petition against the company, claiming a default on a principal amount of 250 crore rupees.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the company’s committee of creditors will be held on Wednesday (29 March) at 4:00 pm, Sintex Plastics said. It didn’t reveal the agenda of the meeting.
